Giving To Gavin

Gavin is a 9 year old boy who has been battling BCell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia since he was 6 years old. He was originally told to be standard risk, but after induction treatment, he was not in remission and had been diagnosed high risk. This mean he had to endure much more treatment than anticipated. During the 2.5 years he was in treatment, he ran into multiple health issues such as pancreatitus 3 times and issues with his liver, which he is still required to take medications daily for.

He finished treatment a few weeks ago, but that does not mean that his fight is over. He has monthly lab draws and clinic appointments. They have to keep a close eye on his liver. He suffers from drop foot, an effect from a chemotherapy he took called vincristine. This makes his daily activities and things he wants to do more difficult. His mother Danielle is a hairdresser and has been out of work since Gavin was diagnosed. Gavin also has two younger brothers, Mathis (4 years old) and Samuel (almost 3 years old).

Much like all families after enduring years of battling cancer, this family is just trying to process all that happened and pick up all the pieces that cancer has left them with. Let’s join together and start this family’s new year and new life off of treatment knowing how loved and supported their family is.

Let’s lift them up financially by only donating $1. Get your friends and family on board with Charlie’s Village and have them pledge a dollar with you. It takes all of us coming together to make big change for families like this.

Thank you all.
