Gianna’s Second Fight

On February 8th, we got the news that we never wanted to hear. Gianna has relapsed. After already beating cancer once, Gianna’s cancer has unfortunately come back. We were just with Gianna and her family this past December for Gianna’s dream trip to Disney World, and this news has been really tough to process. A lot has happened in the last month, and doctors have put together a plan for Gianna.

Gianna will receive a bone marrow transplant. Yesterday, they took samples from Gianna’s bone marrow and brain. If they receive two negative results, they will proceed with radiation treatment to clear her system in preparation for her BMT. Gianna’s mother Juett will be her donor. Gianna will have to be admitted for at least 6 weeks, and have to be in isolation for 3 months.

Gianna’s family has a long road ahead of them, and we want to do everything we can to support them. Our goal is to raise as many funds as possible for Gianna and her family so that we can help alleviate some of their daily expenses while Gianna is going through treatment. Her father is currently working nights, and they have some family helping care for Gianna’s two little sisters. This is an amazing family, going through an extremely difficult time. March 22nd 2023 UPDATE: Gianna’s results from the bone marrow and spinal fluid came back negative. She will proceed with her bone marrow transplant and her mother Juett will be her donor.
