Brianna’s 4th Battle

Brianna Damus is a 10 year old cancer warrior from Miami, Fl, who was our 36th campaign kid. Her dream was to become a model. In early 2020, our team flew out to Miami to put on an epic photoshoot for Brianna, which led to her getting some paid modeling gigs! It was such a beautiful campaign and we all made some amazing memories together.

That was during Brianna’s second fight with cancer. Unfortunately more than two years later, Brianna is once again fighting cancer, for her 4th time, and this time around is very difficult. Brianna has had Wilms tumor since 2018, and they recently found out it has grown back much bigger and more aggressive. Brianna has the tumors all over her pelvic wall, lung, and she has the biggest one on her left side again where her left kidney was once located. Working has not been easy for her mom since 2018, and the bills are getting overwhelming and funds are needed to help cover some of her medical needs.

Brianna was admitted into the hospital in September of 2022 with fluid in her lungs and abdomen. It got to a point where they didn't think she was going to make it, and they started talking about Hospice care. As of now, Brianna is back in the hospital and has been there since November 25th, with fluid once again in her belly and lung. They’re not yet sure how long she'll be there for. As for Chemotherapy, the doctors are not sure if she will continue with treatment because of the fluid build up. She was set to receive 3 more cycles and get a transfer to another hospital to get her Stem cell harvest, but now they're not sure if she'll be able to do it because of what's going on with the fluids, and Brianna can't do the harvest if she still has the cancer.
