DREAM TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD
& GIVE KIDS THE WORLD VILLAGE

Goal: $5,000

Just over a year after the COVID-19 pandemic began, in July 2021, a small family from Wyoming, Michigan, welcomed their newest addition to the family—Mateo, their precious little boy. Mateo was the youngest of three, joining his two older sisters, Serena and Isabella, in their tight-knit family.

At first, Mateo seemed like any other toddler. Full of energy and curiosity, he loved exploring his world, especially if it meant joining his older sisters in their playful adventures. His laughter filled the house as he ran around, always eager to keep up with Serena and Isabella. Whether it was playing with toys in the basement, running through the backyard, or simply enjoying family time, Mateo was a joyful presence, radiating the innocence and wonder of a child his age.

But when Mateo began feeling sick, his usual exuberance dimmed. The cold that seemed like nothing more than a minor setback quickly evolved into something more serious. Despite the antibiotics, his condition didn’t improve. He was still reluctant to play or walk around like he normally would, and it was clear that something wasn’t right. After a few days, when Mateo could no longer find the energy to walk, his parents made the difficult decision to take him to the emergency room. The medical staff quickly noticed that his oxygen and blood levels were dangerously low. They immediately admitted him to the hospital for further testing. After two tense days of tests, scans, and uncertainty, the heartbreaking news came: Mateo had been diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

The diagnosis felt like a punch to the gut, shattering the family's world. Everything changed overnight. What had once been filled with laughter and play was now replaced by hospital rooms, treatments, and an uncertain future. Their everyday life, once so ordinary, was now consumed by doctor visits, chemotherapy schedules, blood tests, and countless sleepless nights. Their hearts were heavy, and the joy that Mateo once brought to their lives seemed distant. The weight of the diagnosis was unimaginable, and the family had to find strength they never knew they had.

Mateo’s days of playing with his sisters in the basement and running around the yard were put on hold as he began his fight against leukemia. The family rallied around him, leaning on each other as they navigated this new reality. The road ahead would be long and full of challenges, but they knew they had to face it with love, hope, and the unbreakable bond that kept them together.

We need your help to raise $5,000 to send Mateo and his family on a special trip to Disney World and Give Kids The World, where they can experience life from a different perspective—one filled with happiness every family deserves. Let’s make this DREAM COME TRUE!
