and Give Kids the World Village
where they can make wonderful memories together, OUTSIDE of the hospital!

Sawyer has been sick since birth but did have a period of several years where his disease wasn’t as obvious. He enjoys anything in nature, outdoors, camping, fishing, etc.
He loves sports, especially baseball, football, and hockey. He loves Disney characters and Marvel characters. Honestly, getting the news and a correct diagnosis was somewhat of a relief. Just to know what we were actually dealing with was nice to finally know. The hardest part is the unknown. His diagnosis is extremely rare. He and a few other kids are literally writing books about this disease. Each of them is very unique and even though they have similar cases, they’re all completely different. Not having a laid-out plan of what can help him is very difficult. Not knowing a long-term prognosis is hard. We don’t know what tomorrow will look like for him, much less a year or five or ten down the road. All of his treatment is experimental which is very scary for all of us.
Sawyer wished to go to Disney and Universal but due to Covid and him being so unstable at the time, that didn’t happen. He has missed out on playing sports, attending school, holidays in the hospital instead of at home, and so many other normal activities families do.
He can no longer play contact sports which is hard because he lives sports. Most of his friends play sports so it’s hard to see all of your friends playing and knowing you can’t join in.
Due to me not being able to work now, and the medical expenses, we can’t afford a lot of the things we could before. We have to live tighter now than we used to. We can’t afford family vacations and such like we used to. We miss holidays together some and so many other activities because of having to be extra careful during cold/flu season. Sawyer gets very sick when he gets any type of upper respiratory infection so in order to avoid hospitalizations, we have to stay home and not join in on some activities sometimes.
The dream would mean so much to all of our family! It’s an experience we could never provide for our boys ourselves. Just the thought of seeing him be able to get away from medical appointments and the constant reminder of his diagnosis would be truly amazing! For him to have a week to just be a kid, and do something fun as a family would be a dream come true!
