Sage is a 10-year-old from Splendora, TX and we’re on a mission to raise
$5,000 to provide the family with a home addition so that Sage can have his own room!

Sage is a fun-loving, eager-to-make-friend 10-year-old. He enjoys riding his pony Belle, loving on his geko Deku, cuddling his kitty Olaf, as well as playing with (and fighting with!) his 3 siblings, going to school and playing video games.

Hearing he had leukemia made me instantly go numb, how... How could this be? Surely they were mistaken? Ok... They were not mistaken, ok, what do we do, how do we fix this, how do we make him healthy again? I did cry, I sobbed actually but I waited until I was alone.

Sage is not happy anymore, he's sad, withdrawn, and lonely. He misses being around his friends, feeling like he had a sense of purpose.

It's changed the family dynamics a lot, we were dividing time equally between all the kids, but now mom's time is primally having to be given to Sage and tending to his needs (medical and physical).

Mom and dad's marriage is taking a hit as well, as we're not able to get away at all, the little ones are now in our room to try to keep Sage’s room as germ-free as we possibly can. We still have a strong marriage, but the tension is rising.

Sage loves to ride his pony but no longer can. He also got a new wheel for his birthday, but can't ride it due to the risk of falling. We used to go to something fun as a family a few times a month but we no longer can either as Sage can't go in public, we've tried coming up with things to do at home but it's not the same.

Having an addition to the house would mean being able to provide a bigger room for Sage, so he can have easy access during times of weakness when he's having to use his wheelchair, or when someone in the family is sick, he is safe from the sickness. As is right now we have nowhere really to separate everyone when someone is sick.
