Maddy is an 11 year old from Joplin, MO. Maddy is a happy girl and always makes people smile. She makes friends where ever she goes. Maddy’s journey started when she began experiencing intermittent knee pain. Sometimes it so bad that she would wake in the middle of the night crying in pain. They thought perhaps it was growing pains but took her to the doctor just in case. At the doctor’s office, Maddy was diagnosed with a discoid meniscus and referred to an orthopedic surgeon, recommending she have surgery if it continued to bother her.
A few weeks later, the pain traveled to her other knee and then to her ankles. A few days after that, Maddy could no longer bear any weight on her legs due to the pain and was showing signs of fatigue. She was taken back to her pediatrician where they ran a blood test. Maddy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
We are on a mission to raise $5,000 to send Maddy and her family on a dream trip to Great Wolf Lodge Kansas City where they can make amazing memories together.
