“Hudson was a surprise baby born in a hallway right after Covid lockdown without knowing I was pregnant. Perfectly healthy kid. Hudson and his sister Penelopi quickly became friends. Not long after his first birthday, he started losing weight and stop reaching Milestones. On Friday, November 12th I was called while at work saying he wouldn’t wake up at school. after a trip to Urgent care, they told me he was constipated and sent us home. The weekend everything seemed normal. That next Monday, November 15th daycare called again saying he wasn’t acting right and wouldn’t stay awake. I quickly called his Pediatrician who told me I could wait a week to see her or go to the ER and ask for a head CT. So off to the ER we went. After a Covid test, they admitted him to the hospital where we did a Head CT. At 10:30 pm they told me there was some sorta mass in his brain about the size of a grapefruit and he needed to be life-flighted to a children's hospital. At about 1 am he was loaded into a helicopter and My mom, myself, and his dad all drove to the hospital.

They attempted to remove the tumor on November 17th but failed because of blood loss and he was on a ventilator for 4 days. On November 30th they told me it was Brain Cancer, Choroid Plexus Carcinoma We were discharged on December 1st. On December 14th we left for St. Jude where he received 6 rounds of chemo. He had the tumor removed on March 24th and we came home 203 days after arriving on July 5th

Because of the Vaccine requirements, Penelope couldn’t come to Memphis with us. We only saw her 4 times for a couple of days at a time. That was hard on everyone being apart. I had to drop out of school for a semester and go on leave from my job. We have all missed out on so much precious time with each other. And even now Penelopi is able to go back to daycare and Hudson can’t. He misses that interaction.

The dream would be a chance for all of us to be together without worrying about doctors, and restrictions and be able to relax after a hard 9 months of fighting for Hudson’s life. He was given a 20% chance in December and has beat all the odds so far. It’s been hard. We are fighting cancer one day at a time but we will make it out the other side.

He has a Facebook group named Heroes for Hudson that anyone is welcome to join. “
