Ke’yair’s Next Fight

Ke'yair is an 11 year old Osteosarcoma warrior from Trenton, New Jersey who we sponsored in 2020. We raised $10,000 to help get Ke’yair his service dog Dexter after his leg was amputated. Dexter has been one of Ke’yair’s best friends ever since! Ke'yair recently had his scans, which resulted in unfortunate news. Ke’yair’s mom just found out that his most recent scans showed another relapse to his lungs.

At our most recent OAAT east event this past July, Ke’yair had told everyone he wanted to run the Pajamas all Day 5k in North Carolina. Russ, who is one of our volunteer dream coordinators, was at the event and told Ke'yair he would drive out to North Carolina to do the 5k with him!

Tomorrow(Oct 21) is Ke'yair's 12th birthday and he doesn't know he has relapsed yet. His mom wants to wait until after his birthday is over to tell him, and she still wants to bring Ke’yair to the 5k in North Carolina.

Our founder Brodi Nicholas will be flying out to North Carolina next week to run this 5k in honor of Ke'yair, in hopes of raising a bunch of money for Ke'yair and his mom. Spread Good Squad member Walter Rivera will be traveling with him where they will meet Russ and Ke’yair and will all wear the same pajama onesies. Ke’yair doesn’t know Brodi is coming. This is going to be a complete surprise!

The 5k is also benefitting another nonprofit, Move For Jenn. Brodi will be going Instagram Live after the 5k on @campaignoaat’s instagram page, in hopes of getting as many people to join as possible as he walks beside Ke’yair. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to assist Ke’yair and his mom as they enter this upcoming battle. We want to show them that they are not alone. You can make a contribution to Ke’yair’s campaign via this via the buttons below.
