Penn Hazuda from Maryville, Tennessee
passed away unexpectedly, April 7, 2023 at St Jude’s hospital.
We are now campaigning to help support Penn’s family financially.
This morning, Jessica, Penn’s mom sent me a message to call her.
When she answered the phone, I knew something had happened.
Penn had just passed away a few hours earlier.
She was still sitting in the room with him at St Jude’s.
She was in shock, heart broken. She said that she was staring at a Mario balloon that someone had brought him and she immediately started crying because Penn would never get to go to Mario Land, where he wanted to go so so badly.
“You have no idea how much this kid loves Mario and wanted to go to Mario Land.”
He’s never going to be able to see the Mario movie, he won’t be able to go on the trip that we fundraised for.
One day, they want to go in his honor.
It wasn’t the cancer. It was likely an infection. They do not know yet.
They were 80% sure he was in remission.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
A child life specialist was making hand prints of Penn’s hands while she was talking to me.
She just wants her child back.
We are fundraising for Penn’s family to support them financially.
We will still make Penn’s dream trip happen for his family in his honor.
100% of new donations will go to Penn’s family to support them through this incredibly difficult time.
