Marcelo is a 5 year old from Phoenix, Arizona. Marcelo is kind and gentle. He is a very special warrior. He is in the spectrum and has speech delay. Marcelo’s journey started when he would get cold all the time and his lips would turn blue because of the cold and he had a temperature. The doctors thought it was just because of the climate change.
Marcelo’s mom received a call from school that Marcelo had a temperature of 104F and symptoms of Covid were seen. That same day she took him to the urgent care to do a Covid test. The test came negative, but still had a temperature. Marcelo was taken to the hospital because the acetaminophen or ibuprofen no longer worked for him. The doctor told his mom it was an ear infection and she prescribed antibiotics.
Marcelo had to return to the ER because he had blood in one eye, the side where his sister hit him with a toy. After a few days, his mom noticed blood coming out of the other eye and his temperature was getting higher. The doctor decided to do all the blood and urine tests since Marcelo was brought to the ER multiple times. Marcelo was later diagnosed with B-Cell Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
We are on a mission to raise $5,000 to send Marcelo and his family on a dream trip to Give Kids The World and Disney World where they can make amazing memories together OUTSIDE of the hospital!
