Weekend Zoo Trip to Detroit
where they can make amazing memories together!

Jolene is a 3 year old from Vanderbilt, MI. Jolene is a fighter. She loves everyone and doesn't give up. Jolene’s journey started when she had several large nose bleeds and bruises began developing out of nowhere. She was also not walking right, not eating, always sleeping, and always fussing. She began saying she had pain everywhere and then she started getting little tiny bruise dots on her legs all over so they took her to the ER. At the hospital, Jolene was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Upon diagnosis, Jolene was transferred to U of M Hospital to receive inpatient care, and has been fighting this ever since. She has gone through chemo, spinal taps, hair loss, and blood transfusions. As a side effect of the chemo, Jolene has also developed neuropathy in her legs and feet. As a 3 year old, Jolene knows she is sick but doesn’t her cancer diagnosis take her down. Instead of worrying about herself, she is constantly putting others first.
