David is a 13-year-old from Concord NC
and we’re on a mission to raise
$5,000 to send David and his family on a dream trip to Give Kids the World Village
and Universal Studios in Orlando Florida
where they can make amazing memories together OUTSIDE of the hospital!

David has always been a healthy and active kid. He was on his school wrestling team and a second-degree black belt in taekwondo. He also played trombone in the school band.

I could've never imagined I would hear someone say "Your son has leukemia". I had never even known anyone that had leukemia. I have never felt so helpless in my life! David hasn't been able to attend school in person since his diagnosis. He misses playing trombone in the band and seeing his friends. He can't do taekwondo right now either. He feels very isolated. He has a 16-year-old sister, Rebecca, that now has a very hard time being away from home at all. He has a 20-year-old sister, Bethany, that is in college and it is hard on her because she can't be home often. I'm not able to work since I am unable to leave him alone at this point. We feel like we are always on guard and waiting for the next thing to happen. We aren't able to attend church and other events with extended family and friends due to treatment and how he feels.

David wants to go on the trip to not think about cancer and just feel like a kid! The financial burden on the family makes it difficult to go on trips and do "extra" things. This has been a difficult journey and we have a long way left to go.
