Sophie was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at 19 months old in November 2021. This was the hardest news to hear. It completely shattered our world into a million pieces. She is the youngest of four children. She has an older brother Colton who is 12. Two older sisters, Harper who is 9, and Zoe who is 4.

Sophie is completely adored by all of her siblings and family. Sophie has always been an extremely bubbly, and joyful toddler. I’m thankful to say that throughout all her treatment she only left for short periods of time.

During treatment, Sophie had 6 bone marrow biopsies, 3 central lines, many different chemos, over 20 blood transfusions, 20 platelet transfusions, and 160 days, inpatient, in the hospital. She always has a smile on her face and truly enjoys being around others.

During treatment, Sophie had to miss out on so many things. During those 160 days isolated in the hospital. She couldn’t play with other kids, she couldn’t go to the park, and she couldn’t be with her siblings. She missed out on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, Valentin’s day, St. Patrick’s day and her 2 nd birthday was in the hospital. That was really hard on our family because we had to do split holidays as well. With Sophie’s dream of wanting to go to Disney World, I think it would help us get some great memories as a family that we had to miss out on when she was undergoing treatment. Sophie also enjoys all things Disney so I truly believe this would bring her absolute joy.
