DREAM TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD
AND GIVE KIDS THE WORLD VILLAGE
Goal: $5,000
Kayla was born on December 17, 2018, and despite just being born, she already had to face trauma in her life. Unfortunately, her biological mother could not take care of her, and Child Welfare Services put her into foster care. Because we adopted her older sister Anajade, we found out about Kayla. Anajde asked if she could have a relationship with her new baby sister, who was 2 weeks old, so we set it up for them to meet. We all instantly fell in love with her, and Anjade asked if we could keep her. And that is the beginning of our beautiful family.
When Kayla arrived at our house, it felt like our life was complete. (It didn't feel like something was missing, but it felt like she was where she was supposed to be.)
Kayla has been the princess in our family. As the baby in the family, she was loved and held all the time. As she grew older, she made our lives livelier. She was curious and determined, which is a dangerous trait. She wasn't afraid of anything. She loved to climb on everything and anything, and when she knew she was in trouble, she would smile.
July 16, 2021, was the worse day of our lives. I kept praying on my hands and knees in the ER for God to take it away and give it to me. I started bargaining with God. If you heal her, I promise to go to church more, and I promise to be a better Catholic. I promise to be more compassionate. Then I became Angry. Why would God do this to a little girl that's already had to fight since birth? I was doubting my faith. The diagnosis has changed Kayla; it has taught her to be brave and compassionate. Our family has changed and has looked at our faith for strength. We attend church every Sunday and remind each other to be thankful. Kayla loves to dance and sing and loves meeting new people. We used to camp frequently and take road trips, but with her diagnosis, we didn't want to take the chance of her getting sick.
This trip would mean the world to us and especially Kayla. She has longed to go to Disneyland. She has even watched videos on it. Her wish is to meet the princesses and ride the rides. This dream trip would be a celebration for all of us. To Celebrate Kayla the Braves’ Journey and how she conquered Cancer. This would also be a celebration for the whole family. A celebration of an ending of a painful chapter and a celebration of a new beginning.
What will it take?!
It will cost $5,000 to fulfill our goal of covering the costs of Kayla's dream trip.
If just 50 people gave $100, we would reach this goal!
Any funds raised after our $5,000 goal will go on to help more kids like Kayla!
