Goal Reached!

Before Jayce was diagnosed, she was an outgoing energetic girl. She loved gymnastics and was physically stronger than any girl I ever knew. She loved spending time outdoors, especially in the pool or at the beach.

When she was diagnosed, we all went into survival mode looking at each step in front, one step at a time. Treatment has changed Jayce both physically and emotionally. What came easily to her before the diagnosis is now a challenge which takes practice. She is self-conscious about her short hair and will sometimes choose not to participate if she feels uncomfortable.

We missed out on so much of “normal” childhood. Missed so many beach days, vacations, and holidays. She loves the water, especially the beach, and she loves gymnastics, and all things Disney and Tim Burton (especially Wednesday). Jayce missed out on so many “normal” childhood experiences and spent so much of the last 2 years cooped up. It would mean so much to all of us to see her be able to be a kid again.
